The wave to your neighbor campaign

This great idea was given to me last night by an old timer from here in Paquin and I think it is a great idea.

The "Wave To Your Neighbor Campaign" is designed to help others to smile and have a nice day in letting them know somebody cares about them even if they cannot care about themselves at that moment in time.

No matter if you hate or dislike your neighbor it is always a great idea to at least say Hi and give a friendly wave daily being we all have to live in the building together so let's try to promote peace and harmony every day.

Remember even Jesus said "Love thy neighbor" so let's all work from that example and give a nice wave.smile and a hearty hello to our neighbors every day no matter how grumpy they might seem to be. A wave and a hearty smile can brighten anybody's gloomy day.

Thank you to the old timer who gave me this great idea. Good things do come out of Paquin Tower and many more good things and people are with in Paquin Tower no matter how dark the building might seem.

Wave at your neighbor today.

Thieves in the garden already

Well it has started and what can we do since we cannot be there 24/7 to watch over our hard work.

One of our gardeners has had 3/4 of her nice Cucumbers and a very nice looking Hungarian Pepper stolen out of her garden already.

What kind of low life individual(s) does it take to go and steal other's hard work and love of what they have grown?

This has been an ongoing problem for many years in the Paquin Tower Garden but as I asked what can we do? The new fence has not been constructed as yet and who knows when it will be actually done. If this fence would have been in place this would not have happened. It is sad because last night she was looking at her garden and was so proud of her hard work she was planning to pick tonight.

Some may think "Oh it is just a garden" but to those growing, nurturing, feeding, watering and weeding daily it is their labor of love and their hobby that gets them out of their apartment and an escape away from things.

Well I hope this sends another message of how badly the fence with the locked gate is needed but as we all know no fence can stop these kinds of low life individuals if they really want to get into anywhere and we also know it could even have been another gardener themselves who did this travesty and would still do this kind of senseless thing even with the fence in place but this is principle we are talking about here folks.

Who ever you are who did this you hurt that gardener and you stole their hard work they labored for. I hope you think about that if you happen to read this but rest assured if I personally catch anybody in the Paquin Tower Garden stealing from anybody I know they are not supposed to be I will personally give you the A$$ Chewing of your life & I will personally call the police and file a criminal report.

If you are a resident of Paquin Tower and do this you better think twice before doing it again. What happens in the garden can stay in the garden so think about it. Fair warning.

Sidewalk Work Begins on Paquin Street

The work has begun on Paquin Street to repair and replace sections of sidewalk that were broken and hazardous to all pedestrians disabled and non disabled alike.

At this time they are tearing up the sidewalks and entrances to Paquin Tower so getting in and out might be a challenge for some and that includes Para-transit and Services For Independent Living along with the normal Columbia Transit System.

This ongoing project is Phase One of the East Side Sidewalk Project that was funded by Federal Grant Money and Community Block Grant Money.

Here is a link to refresh you on the project and it's goals:

Remembering where we live

I heard tonight from a resident that things I and Keith Martin post on this blog are mostly lies and trash. Oh Really?

Well that sure is news being most everything that we do publish up here is taken right out of first hand conversations residents have openly with us and tell us their worries and ongoing complaints that are not being addressed by the PTRA or CHA.

We have been accused openly of portraying Paquin Tower in a bad light of sorts. Well is it our fault that residents themselves cause 99.9% of the ongoing issues with in Paquin Tower with their ongoing drama they refuse to let go of and constantly keep stirring up?

We have been accused of portraying CHA itself in a bad light too. Is it our fault the facts stand for themselves if CHA has been at fault in addressing issues that need to be addressed and residents are still complaining?

Myself and Keith Martin tonight were told by this same resident mentioned above that we were in trouble and were going to be in more trouble over what we post openly and free of charge on this blog. Well that sure is news to me being I have not received any official court documentation to that fact nor am I worried by it either. (Read the full disclaimer of this blog)

The things myself and Keith Martin heard tonight are what make living with in Paquin Tower rough for all residents at times with the ongoing B.S. ie: yes there is still gossip mongering and all of that going on by those who cannot just mind their own business and move on with life. These types are what make our Community here at Paquin Tower loathsome for all residents not just a few who are singled out but all residents. It drives residents apart,it drives wedges where they need not be,it makes enemies amongst those who hardly know each other,it drives residents from the Lobby and it just makes living one day at a time more of a chore than it should have to be.

In closing I have to remember where I live and to remember that alot of people around me just cannot handle the realities of life itself so they must torment others and try to drag them down into their own miserable mental hell they themselves live in daily.

We must remember that only we ourselves can stop the madness by either walking away or not participating in any activity where these types mentioned above are in or at and if need be to just ignore these people.

We must remember that we who truly care about this building are as the salt of the Earth and even though our work goes unseen and often times unappreciated "We Know" the difference we make daily.

Join with us and make that difference daily yourself.

Peace out my friends.

Roofing Repair Pictures

Pictures of the Crane loading materials onto the roof of Paquin Tower a 15 story building. The Crane is one of the largest in Mid Missouri.

Roof Repair Begins

The repair and upgrade to the entire roof system of Paquin Tower is beginning today with the setting up of the huge Crane that is needed to move materials up to the top of the 15 floor structure that is the highest building in Columbia.

A huge part of the back parking lot has been closed off to accommodate this Crane and residents are advised to show caution in the rear of the building areas.

Construction is due to last into July according to the notices places on resident's doors.

More info will be posted as it is received.
