Partial Lockdown Coming to Paquin Tower
A partial lock down at Paquin Tower is coming soon as a way of better securing the building after normal office hours.
This is being brought about due to people coming in the back door after the normal closing time when time cards are required. These are people who do not live at Paquin Tower and are either visiting, sleeping illegally in other tenants units(a tenant can only have others stay in their unit 7 days unless they are on the tenants lease or by special permission from the housing manager) or other unauthorized activities such as drug dealing.
This will force all people to have to use the front entry doors after 5pm instead of using the basement back door. Many times people who really have no business coming into the facility will use the back door, take the stair well and avoid the security cameras altogether.
In the past people have jammed paper, rocks and other assorted items into the locking mechanisms to not allow the door to close properly and now that door is damaged.
This is the first step in better securing the building between the hours of 9pm to 7am daily.
More details will be forth coming in the future on these new security measures and a possible 27/7 lock down of the facility where you must have a pass card to get back in once you go out.

Paquin Tower Basement Flooded out June 2 2009
With the Tuesday evening flash flood the entire basement area at Paquin Tower was totally flooded out.
From my point of view alot of water damage was done to one of the main supply rooms, exercise room and possibly the rooms that are allocated to the Boone County Family Services.
Also just today Paquin Tower received their second shipment of new Refrigerators and Stoves so these too were in the basement area when this flood took place.
This is only my third time I have personally seen that level of water in my 5 years of being at Paquin Tower that flooded into the basement area.
There was over 1 foot of water across the entire parking lot when I and my GF returned from going out for pizza that we did drive through because we had to in order to park the car.
The residents of Paquin Tower want to express a huge thank you to the CFD for showing up and handling alot of the water extraction and removal from the basement area. Great job.
